Environment and community statements

Environment statement
4000rpm takes account of our impact on the world around us. We take steps to reduce our use of resources, and to reuse and recycle.

Our main impact is through travel and the use of IT:

  • where possible we make the most of public transport
  • we seek ways to reduce the power consumption of the technology we use
  • IT equipment is disposed of where possible to charities that will use it, otherwise for recycling.

We believe that offset is one part of good environmental practice, rather than a substitute for reduction and recycling. We offset our emissions through EquiClimate, which meets the government standard for offset products.

We also take environmental and ethical impact into account in making purchase decisions.

We recognise that we operate as part of a wider community and encourage and support staff to volunteer with organisations that matter to them.

In addition, we have donated money over the last year to:

  • St John Ambulance
  • MyBnk, an education charity working with young people to build the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their money effectively and make enterprising choices throughout their lives
  • Several other education-related charities
